Product Description

Scuba tank valve service kit - 7 pieces

Every soft part that seals inside a scuba cylinder valve, in one small pack: six sealing components plus the brass burst-disc plug. Keep one in the workshop drawer so a valve strip-down never stops for the sake of a single o-ring.

What is in the kit

  • 4 × NBR o-rings
  • 1 × copper crush washer - single-use sealing washer for a threaded valve port
  • 1 × PTFE backup washer - white, low-friction anti-extrusion ring
  • 1 × burst disc plug - brass body with a green protective coating; 12 mm across the thread, 10 mm brass shoulder, 6 mm square drive head

What it is for

Cylinder valves - K-valves, DIN and yoke pillar valves, and the modular valves fitted to twinsets - all rely on a handful of elastomer seals and two washers. Those seals harden, take a set and start to weep long before anything else on the valve wears out. This kit puts the whole set in one place, so a valve that comes back from visual inspection or hydrostatic test can be rebuilt and put straight back into service.

Check before you order

Cylinder valve internals are not standardised between manufacturers - Apeks, Faber, Scubapro, Sherwood and Thermo all differ. Measure the seals you are replacing and compare them against this kit before you strip your valve. If you need one exact size rather than a set, we stock individual o-rings by AS568 number:

Safety note

The burst disc, or over-pressure relief device, is a safety component on a cylinder that holds 200-300 bar. Fit it only if you are a qualified cylinder-valve technician working to the valve manufacturer's torque figures, and replace the disc assembly whenever the cylinder is hydrostatically tested or is known to have been overfilled. If you are in any doubt, hand the valve to your test station - this kit is sold as a spare part, not as a licence to service your own valve.

Finish the job properly

Wipe every seal with a thin film of silicone grease before it goes back in - and on an oxygen-clean or nitrox-service valve use an oxygen-compatible lubricant instead of silicone. Lift the old seals out with an o-ring pick or the hook and scribe set so you do not score the groove.
